We are proud to announce that we have been awarded another grant from Knox City Council's Community Development Fund for 2024-2025. This $15,000 will enable us to further scale up the Knox Repair Cafe team and extend our reach within the Knox community. In the last twelve months we have also developed a Repair Online Matching Platform to allow you to make bookings and make best use of our expert repairers. This will be launched in the New Year. We have also been lucky enough to secure a Minor Grant from Knox City Council to better equip our sessions.

FB_IMG_1738292096767.jpg

The session on May 10th is part of Knox Environment Society's Autumn Festival. We will be running

10am - 12pm and limiting our service to sharpening and servicing garden tools. One repair per person.

Who We Are & What We Do

We are a part of the Repair Cafe International Foundation, and our mission is to bring repair back to the heart of local communities. Our goal is to maintain and spread repair expertise, while promoting social cohesion by bringing together people from all walks of life.

You might ask, what is a Repair Cafe? A Repair Cafe is a temporary or "pop-up" workshop which encourages community camaraderie and the reduction of items being sent to hard waste by repairing broken items and teaching people how to utilise tools to make their own repairs at home.

At Knox Repair Cafe, we offer a variety of repair services for items such as clothing, furniture, electronics, and appliances. Our skilled repair experts are passionate about fixing broken items and giving them a new life, instead of throwing them away and contributing to the growing problem of waste and environmental damage.

Knox Repair Cafe is more than just a place to fix broken items. It's also a community hub where neighbors can come together, share knowledge, and learn new skills. We believe that repairing items is not only good for the environment but also for building strong, supportive communities. By working together, we can create a culture of repair that promotes sustainability and social cohesion.

We welcome everyone to our Repair Cafe, regardless of their background or experience with repair. Whether you need help fixing something, want to learn new repair skills, or simply want to connect with others in your community, we invite you to join us. Together, we can make repair a part of the local community once again.

Our Clients Say

Testimonials Hallam pic.jpg
"A massive thank you to Barry from Knox Repair Cafe for not only fixing a damaged cord but for also recreating a broken motor bracket on this amazing machine we had donated to Hallam Community Learning Centre. If you have anything that might need a little TLC and want to look at getting it fixed instead of adding it to landfill, get down to one of the repair sessions and see if someone there can help you out. Everyone involved in the cafe does so as volunteers for their time and skills, repairs are done on donations."
